An amazing journey from Santiago de Chile through the salt flats of the high desert of the Andes to the Argentinean North-Western region of Salta, the wine producing region of Mendoza and finally Buenos Aires, Argentina's bustling capital.

Day 1. Arrive Santiago de Chile (-/-/-)

Welcome to Chile. Transfer to your hotel in Santiago. 

After some rest embark on a half day city tour of the main attractions of the city, where you can see the contrast of its rich history and its modern and impressive buildings. The Palace of La Moneda, Plaza de Armas, the Santa Lucia Hill, the Metropolitan Park and the exclusive suburbs of Vitacura and Las Condes, are part of this unforgettable ride.

Day 2. Viña del Mar & Valparaiso (B/-/-)

Departure from your hotel for a visit to Viña del Mar, South America's sophisticated social summer resort located 100 kms west of Santiago also known as the "garden city" for its beautiful gardens, avenues filled with flowering trees and palms. Exciting and full of action is the Casino and Valparaiso Avenue with its many open-air cafés, restaurants and shopping malls. Valparaíso, Chile's principal port will also be visited, with its urban landscape and giant bulk of ships moored at the wharves, its narrow streets, turning an abrupt piece of coastline into one of the world’s most picturesque ports. The tour will stop at a beach restaurant for lunch (lunch not included).

Day 3. Santiago de Chile – San Pedro de Atacama (B/-/-)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Calama. On arrival transfer to San Pedro de Atacama.

In the afternoon Moon Valley Tour with Cordillera de la Sal including Dead Valley.

Day 4. Altiplanic Lagoons and Socaire (B/-/-)

Departure to the Miñique and Miscanti lakes, located 90 kms from San Pedro de Atacama and at an altitude of 4,300 metres. We take the road to Toconao, going straight into the plains with views of the volcanoes. En route you will be able to observe species of native trees in the area such as the tamarugo. In Toconao brief visit to the main square and the church, highlighting their houses built of volcanic stone (Quarry). With a panoramic view of the beautiful contrast between the greenery of the Valley of Jere and the desert, we continue with a brief visit to a village farmer in Socaire. Then ascend by the cordillera de los Andes (the Andes mountain ranges) to reach the Miñique and Miscanti lakes with intense blue and white shores located in the Flamingos National Reserve surrounded by imposing hills and volcanoes. Continue to Salar de Atacama, the largest salt flat in Chile and the third largest in the world after Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia and the Salinas Grandes in Argentina where we can witness the Andes flamingos and other types of birds. At dusk return to San Pedro.

Day 5. San Pedro de Atacama – Salta (B/-/-)

Transfer to the coach station where you will board your coach to Salta, Argentina.

The journey takes about 10 hours.

Day 6. Salta - Cafayate - Salta (B/-/-)

The journey starts from Salta city to the south, through route 68 traversing the Lerma Valley and its historical towns. We reach Quebrada de las Conchas (the Shell´s Gorge), where wind and water erosion carved curious shapes on the rocks (The Amphitheater, Devil´s throat, The Toad, The Castles, among others). When we arrive to Cafayate, we visit some wineries, famous for their production of Torrontes, with special characteristics due to the particularities of the climate and land. After lunch we return to Salta through the Quebrada de las Conchas (the Shells´ Gorge) and the Lerma Valley.

Day 7. Salta - Humahuaca - Salta (B/-/-)

The journey leaves from Salta, but really begins once we arrive to Purmamarca Village where you can observe the Seven Coloured Hill, the Church and the Craft Market on the square, and take a walk along its narrow streets. We continue towards the town of Tilcara where we visit the Pucará (ancient ruins), the Archaeological Museum, and Huacalera, and then we cross the Tropic of Capricorn, from where the colours of La Pollera de la Coya Hill can be seen and really good pictures taken. Visit Uquía and its church, where the paintings of the Arcabuceros Angels are kept. 

Arrive to Humahuaca around noon. This town has an important Church and the Independence Monument of the sculptor Soto Avendaño. After lunch we´ll observe, from the route, La Paleta del Pintor (Painter’s Palette) framing the town of Maimara. We continue to San Salvador de Jujuy where the Flag Hall and the Cathedral, characterised by its pulpit carved in wood and gold and the statues of Lola Mora are visited. Finally, we return to Salta through National Route N° 9 with abundant subtropical vegetation. The last stretch is: El Abra of Santa Laura, observing La Cienaga (The Swamp) dam, Las Maderas and Campo Alegre and returning to Salta through Vaqueros.

Day 8. Salta - Mendoza (B/-/-)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Mendoza. On arrival transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 9. Mendoza (B/L/-)

Malbec Wine experience with gourmet lunch

Depart towards the south of Mendoza among vineyards and trellises, to the first fine wine producing area of the country, Lujan de Cuyo. In this area we will visit two wineries (one industrial and artisanal), where we will learn the secrets of winemaking and the art of a good tasting.

Return to Mendoza.

Day 11. Mendoza - Buenos Aires (B/-/-)

Take a morning flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival embark on a half day city tour. 

Buenos Aires is one of the most fascinating cities in both Latin America and the world. Be it for its splendid and varied architecture, with its old Colonial buildings, French palaces and state-of-the-art skyscrapers; for its vibrant nightlife and endless cultural options; or maybe just for the rich identity of the Porteños, who proudly bear the European heritage of their ancestors, more and more visitors are coming to visit. Discover the history of “May Square”, the site of the most important historical events and where the protagonists made history. See its surroundings, the most emblematic buildings, and learn all about them. Then enjoy May Avenue and wonder in awe at the oldest residential neighborhood in Buenos Aires: San Telmo. Walk along its cobble-stoned streets and discover its antiques shops and picturesque buildings. Live and feel the original Tango in the neighborhood of La Boca: walk along “Caminito Street” and enjoy the dancers and souvenir shops. See the mythical Boca Juniors soccer stadium. Contemplate the modernization of the city whilst traveling along “Madero Port” and its exclusive docks, full of excellent restaurants and large office buildings. Pass through the Retiro neighborhood and move on to see Palermo and its most exclusive residential area before finally arriving at Recoleta. Once there, discover the final resting place of Eva Peron, “Evita” and wander through Recoleta Cemetery where she is to be found.

Free day in Buenos Aires to enjoy the city or choose optional activities, such as visiting the Tigre Delta, or taking a fast ferry to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay.

Dinner and tango show at La Ventana

In the very heart of the San Telmo neighbourhood, this refurbished historic conventillo is a classic building of the Buenos Aires culture. La Ventana is a trip to older times. The interior architectural style is preserved, and creates the ideal setting for a unique experience; 35 artists, two tango orchestras, a folklore band, dancers and singers; a menu that consists of several traditional and international dishes, and a list of excellent Argentine wines.
