Kathmandu and Pokhara

5 Days / 4 Nights

This is a short trip to soak up the feeling of Nepal. Ideal for people who don't have much time, or as a pre- or post tour to extend your holiday in the region. Discover the daily life of Kathmandu, pass along busy streets, shops, squares, and ancient temples. Visit the many UNESCO World Heritage Sites the city has to offer. Explore Pokhara and view the sunrise over the Annapura mountains before driving back to Kathmandu along a scenic route.

Day 1. Arrive Kathmandu (-/-/-)

Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the airport then transfer you to your hotel. If time permits and you arrive early, you are free to explore around the city or simply rest at the hotel.

Day 2. Kathmandu Sightseeing & Flight to Pokhara (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will meet your guide and visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square which is an important historical location of the valley with palaces, temples dating back to the 18th century. Continue to a Buddhist pilgrimage site: the Swayambhunath Stupa, popularly known as 'Monkey temple' due to the large number of monkeys residing in its forested area. Enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the entire Kathmandu Valley and the surrounding mountains, then continue your tour to the sacred Hindu temple of Lord Shiva – Pashupatinath Temple situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. The holy River is also the cremation ground for Hindus. Then visit Boudhanath Stupa close to Pashupatinath which will take about 15 minutes’ drive. Boudhanath is the largest and holiest Buddhist Stupas in the world. Later on, you will fly to Pokhara (25 minutes approx). Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara. 

Day 3. Pokhara Sightseeing (B/-/-)

Early morning, you will set off to Sarangkot to catch the spectacular sunrise view over peaks of the  Annapurna Range and others. Return back to the hotel for breakfast. Later embark on a sightseeing tour of Pokhara and visit the Bindabasini Temple, Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave, World Peace Stupa. In the evening you can stroll around the lakeside. Optional: rent a boat on the Fewa Lake, great fun. Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.


Day 4. Drive back to Kathmandu (B/-/D)

After breakfast, you will board a tourist bus and drive back to Kathmandu overland via a scenic route passing along villages and rivers. The journey takes about 7 hours. The evening in Kathmandu is all set for a farewell dinner at an authentic Nepali restaurant. Afterwards, return back to your hotel. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 5. Departure (B/-/-)

Your trip concludes today and we shall transfer you to the international airport to catch your

onward flight to your next destination.
