Laos - North & South Highlights

7 Days / 6 Nights

This comprehensive tour combines the Northern and Southern highlights of Laos and includes the key cultural and natural experiences the destination has to offer. 7 days in Laos is just enough time to have an intense programme, but still find some ‘quiet time’ to enjoy the relaxed pace of life, which is the specialty of Laos.

  • Northern Laos with Luang Prabang, the cultural centre of Laos, is famed for living Buddhist culture and French colonial heritage

  • Southern Laos with the Bolaven Plateau is home to the most impressive natural wonders of Laos, and South-East Asia and the Wat Phou UNESCO World Heritage Site, a small, but significant temple.

  • Experiential activities (Baci Ceremony, Traditional Story-Telling) offer an inexpensive way for making the tour more interactive and multi-sensual

The ceremony involves the tying of white cotton strings around a person’s wrists and a prayer saying or well-wishing for the person that the ceremony is intended for. The Baci ceremony is held on many different occasions or events throughout the year. It can be held any day of the week though it has to be on a good day in the lunar calendar. These good days are known to elders, senior monks, or ex-monks. The ceremony can be held for both sad times and happy times.

TRIP NOTES

You have chosen to visit some remote areas of Laos where tourism is still in its infancy. We thank you for your open-mindedness and consideration. We are persuaded you will enjoy your time in these little visited parts of our beautiful country. We take this opportunity to inform you that you might occasionally face some situations when you may not be attended in a very professional manner simply because staffs have not necessarily been properly trained. In developing countries, it is an on-going concern which is being addressed by the relevant local and national authorities but we rest assured that tour guide will do his/her utmost to compensate the eventual weaknesses encountered here and there. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to your feedback.
