SUGGESTED ITINERARY

Day 1. Arrive Kathmandu (-/-/-)

Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the airport then transfer you to your hotel. If time permits and you arrive early, you are free to explore around the city or simply rest at the hotel.

Day 2. Kathmandu – Ason/Kathmandu Durbar Square/Swayambhunath ‘Monkey Temple’ (B/-/-)

After breakfast, walk from your hotel to the nearby busy Ason, the heart of Old Kathmandu where you can witness the daily lives of the locals, pass along busy streets, shops , squares, and ancient temples. The tour then continues to Kathmandu Durbar Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the historical and religious location where many temples, palaces, shrines are located. Nearby is the famous ‘Freak Street’, the most popular junction during the Hippy era. Afterwards, continue walk to the ‘Monkey Temple’ Swayambhunath (UNESCO World Heritage Site) located atop a hill which commands the most spectacular panoramic view of the entire Kathmandu Valley. Swayambhunath is a Buddhist Stupa and to get to the top, one needs to climb 365 steps. Afterwards, drive back to the hotel.

Day 3. Kathmandu – Pashupatinath/Boudhanath (B/-/-)

Today, drive to Pashupatinath, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the most sacred Hindu temple of Lord Shiva situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. The bank of the Bagmati River is the cremation ground for Hindus. Walk along the stone steps passing along many temples, ashrams, Sadhus (holy men) towards Gujeshwori, another Hindu temple, then cross the Bagmati River towards Boudhanath. On the way there will be market areas, shops, schools and will finally arrive at Boudhanath, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the holiest Buddhist Stupa. Explore around Boudhanath, visit the local monasteries. Afterwards, drive back to the hotel.

 

Day 4. Kathmandu to Dhading – School visit/Village tour  (B/-/D)

The day begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Dhading in the morning. Upon arrival, visit the local school where you can spend some time with the children and get to know more about how the schools in villages operate. Later on, walk to the nearby village and witness the daily lives of the people. interact, chat with the locals to find out more about them. You will get to taste the local food today for dinner at a family home, and you will also spend the night there.

Day 5. Drive to Pokhara (B/-/-)

Drive from Dhading to Pokhara. Pokhara is the most beautiful lake-side town of Nepal with many natural wonders. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel. Later we will explore the city on foot, and visit the nearby Fewa lake.

Day 6. Drive to Nayapul & trek to Ghandruk (B/L/D)

(altitude: 1,940m, 4-5 hrs trekking)

After breakfast, drive to Nayapul from Pokhara for about an hour. Upon reaching Nayapul, start trekking  uphill with good views of Annapurnas and Manaslu. Reach Birethanti, then turn right after crossing the Mod River and after a steep hill trail you will reach Ghandruk after trekking for 4-5 hours. Ghandruk is a beautiful village of the Gurung Community. Spend the rest of the day exploring the village and interacting with the locals. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 7. Trek from Ghandruk to Pothana (B/L/D)

(altitude: 1,900m, 5-6 hrs trekking)

The day begins with several ascents and descents towards the Modi River. The trail then climbs to Landruk Village. Witnes the daily lives of the people living in the mountains. You will walk past paddy fields, climbing uphill passing along another village, Deurali, and finally to Pothana. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 8. Trek from Pothana to Phedi & drive to Pokhara (B/-/-)

(2 hrs trekking)

Today, most part of the trek will take you along the ridge of a hill and inside the forest with great Himalayan views. After descending you will reach Phedi passing along the village of Dhampus. Then drive to Pokhara which takes about half an hour and check-in hotel.

Day 9. Fly back to Kathmandu (B/-/-)

After breakfast, fly back to Kathmandu which takes 25 minutes. Afternoon at leisure. The evening is all set for a farewell dinner with a cultural program at an authentic Nepali restaurant.

Day 10. Departure (B/-/-)

Your trip concludes today and we shall transfer you to the international airport to catch your

onward flight to your next destination.
