Day 1. Arrive Buenos Aires (-/-/-)
On arrival private transfer from the international airport to your hotel.
In the afternoon short sightseeing in Buenos Aires. The tour is 3 hours long and visits the most important sights of the spectacular city of Buenos Aires. Discover the history of May Square, the site of the most important historical events and learn all about them. Then enjoy May Avenue and wonder in awe at the oldest residential neighbourhood in Buenos Aires: San Telmo. Walk along its cobblestoned streets and discover its an antiques shops and picturesque buildings. Live and feel the original Tango in the neighbourhood of La Boca: walk along Caminito Street and enjoy the dancers and souvenir shops. See the mythical Boca Juniors soccer stadium. Contemplate the modernisation of the city whilst traveling along Madero Port and its exclusive docks, full of excellent restaurants and large offices. Pass through the Retiro neighbourhood and move on to see Palermo and its most exclusive residential area before arriving at Recoleta. Once there, discover the final resting place of Eva Peron, “Evita” and wander through Recoleta Cemetery where she is to be found.
Day 2. Buenos Aires - Salta - Purmamarca (B/-/-)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Salta. On arrival transfer to Purmamarca, a nice town at the Humahuaca Ravine. We spend the rest of the day enjoying the colourful town while we prepare for our next day start.
Day 3. Tilcara - Veranada de Yutos Pampa (B/L/D)
Early morning private transfer to “Alfarcito” (2900 m). There, we will begin our trekking, with a slow and incessant ascent – we have to be careful about acclimatising - to reach Campo Laguna (4200 m). This is the highest point of the crossing. After lunch, we will descend to Yutos Pampa at 3200 m.
Day 4. Veranada de Yutos Pampa - Molulo (B/L/D)
Continue to the top of Mount Cumbre Grande.
In the afternoon we arrive to the community of Molulo at 2950 m.
Day 5. Molulo - Abra del Potrero (B/L/D)
We will have a peaceful morning, and plenty of time to meet the local inhabitants and walk around the area. After lunch, we will continue our trek. Gradually, you will notice the increase in vegetation; and arrive to a place known as Abra Potrero.
Day 6. Abra del Potrero - San Lucas (B/L/D)
We continue our adventure from the Abra del Potrero (lowest point between two mountains). After trekking through a section of forest we will arrive at 2500 m. then slowly descend again to San Lucas.
Day 7. San Lucas - Calilegua - Salta (B/-/-)
Last stage of the trek is between San Lucas and San Francisco. The path continues by the southern bank of San Lucas River, the vegetation is dense and the valley is deep. After crossing Valle Grande Valley, we will ascend to Peña Alta, which is the end of our long trek. There, our transfer is waiting for us, to take us through the small town of San Francisco and the whole Calilegua National Park arriving to Libertador San Martin Village. From there we will continue to Salta city.
Day 8. Salta - Departure (B/-/-)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires where you will be transferred to the international terminal for your departure flight.
