Vietnam’s Tea, Rice and Coffee

12 Days / 11 Nights


A unique and active exploration of Vietnam's secrets and corners. Unveil its' lesser known traditions and heritage, its' culture, get used to its' people’s habits of “tea & talk”. Travel more in-depth in the Red River Delta, immerse yourself into the culture of ancient villages of Hue and Hoi An. Fly up to the Central Highlands to learn about the coffee farming with the M’Nong ethnicity and stay at a LAK Tented Camp before roaming the streets of Saigon.

Day 1. Arrive Hanoi (-/-/-)

At the airport welcome by your English speaking guide and transfer to your hotel.

In the afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing in Ha Noi, a cyclo ride in the French and Old Quarters as well as an evening Water Puppet Show, followed with a traditional tea ceremony and calligraphy demonstration.


Day 2. Hanoi - Handicraft Village (B/-/-)

After breakfast, take a half day's excursion to handicraft villages around Ha Noi.

                        Visit Dai Bai village (10km) from Hanoi, known for forging brass and bronze carving. Continue to Xuan Lai village, crafting bamboo products and walk around the village, visit its ancient communal temple to feel the local atmosphere. In the afternoon take a sightseeing tour around the highlights of Hanoi: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (outside) and his Residence, One pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature. Lunch at own account

Day 3. Hanoi - Halong Bay (B/L/D)

After breakfast, proceed to Ha Long Bay (approx. 4- hours' drive). Upon arrival in Halong Bay, board your boat for an unforgettable cruise. Welcome seafood lunch on board.

Cruise in Halong bay visiting some islands and caves. Go kayaking (optional) around some nice beaches if weather permits. Late afternoon, admire the sunset over the bay, enjoy happy hour on the bar deck or attend a cooking demonstration. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 4. Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue (B/-/-)

Start the day with a Tai Chi class on the sundeck.

Continue cruising the bay, visiting some other highlights. Have a brunch before disembarkation.

Return to Halong wharf, disembark and transfer back to Hanoi Airport to board a late flight to Hue.

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Dinner at own account. 

Day 5. Hue - Rural Life Immersion by Bike (B/L/-)

The cycling tour to Thanh Toan village was designed to tell you the deep rooted history of Vietnam's wet-rice culture. You will visit an ancient village, famed for its tile roofed bridge (built in 1776) and learn about Vietnamese villages' administration, its typical culture and institutions. Take time to experience a day as a local farmer, such as: engaging in some processes of rice farming, picking vegetables, fishing and making local handicraft. Prepare and cook a genuine home meal with local ingredients. Combine cycling with rowing a sampan and walking and end the day with relaxing moments and cultural engagement.  

Note: Alternatively tour by cyclo.

Day 6. Hue - Danang - Hoi An (B/-/-)

Breakfast at the hotel. Sightseeing in the Imperial City of Hue then proceed to Hoi An via the scenic Hai Van Pass (Pass of the Ocean Clouds), enjoying spectacular views of the sky and the sea. Take a walking tour to discover the historic town that used to be a prosperous seaport city during the 16th to 18th centuries. Visit the Hoi An market, Tan Ky old house, Fukien Assembly Hall, and Japanese covered bridge. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in Hoi An.

Day 7. Hoi An (B/-/-)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Free at leisure for self exploration, enjoying the beach or taking optional tours.

Option 1.

Hoi An Cooking Class

Visit Hoi An's colourful morning market, take a bike ride or boat ride depending on interest to reach the cooking class. Join hands in preparing some local delicacies in a fun and interactive way. Enjoy your own creation.

Option 2.

Half day to My Son sanctuary by jeep (2-3 people/jeep)

With the jeep, you can visit My Son, and the Cham Temples in a unique way. We will drive past rice fields, village temples, and taking the small roads to feel the nature and local lifestyle.

Day 8. Hoi An - Danang - Buon Ma Thuot - Lak (B/-/-)

Proceed to Da Nang airport for your flight to Buon Ma Thuot, capital of the Central Highlands. Upon arrival, transfer to Lak (50km, 1hour). You will be welcomed at the boat pier in Lak. Take a guided village tour to explore M’Nong ethnic villages (Nau, M’Lieng) around Lak, the lifestyle and typical culture. (3 hours cultural sightseeing, join-in). Check-in and lunch at Lak Tented Camp. Afternoon at leisure to self explore the surroundings.

In the evening, enjoy a Gong performance followed by dinner at Y Lak restaurant.

Overnight at Lak Tented Camp.

Day 9. Soft Trek to Bim Bip Waterfall (B/L/D)


Transfer to Yangtao village, located in Chu Yang Sin National Park. Take a short trek (4km, 1hour) to the hidden waterfall, enjoy the jungle canopy, and swim in the fresh natural pool. Savor a healthy picnic lunch by the waterfall.

In the afternoon, participate in some hands-on activities such as making pottery with traditional ethnic techniques. Explore the coffee culture and farming. Dinner and overnight at Lak Tented Camp.

Day 10. Lak - Ho Chi Minh City (B/-/-)

Take a short boat ride on the picturesque Lak Lake to enjoy the sunrise, watch fishermen get to work. Village life awakens while the lake reflects the changing colours.

Time at leisure then transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 11. Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/-)

Visit some interesting corners of the city to absorb the metropolitan blended local lifestyle, influenced by oriental traditions and occidental vibes. Walk leisurely through some thematic streets selling birds, bonsai, miniature landscapes, antiques and handicraft. Visit the traditional medicine museum and explore the art of healing. Browse special “markets” exposing decorative flowers to wartime objects, evoking strong scents of local life. During the interactive exploration, you will learn how important such objects and practice are to Vietnamese through times, physically and spiritually. A nice meal is waiting for you at authentic home.

In the afternoon, take an orientation tour including the Jade Emperor Pagoda, former Presidential Palace, Post office, Notre Dame. In the evening, opt for a luxury dinner cruise on the Saigon River.

Day 12. Ho Chi Minh City - Departure (B/-/-)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
